At the Liche\u0144 Sanctuary, we were looking forward to the beatification of Cardinal Stefan Wyszy\u0144ski. In recent days we have been preparing for this event by praying in the novena.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\tThe Primate of the Millennium was an important person in the history of Lichen. \u201cI remember that when I was here years ago, I was given the task to write down the favors experienced by the worshipers of Mary of Liche\u0144. In the burial cemetery, by the chapel, there was a table, at which I sat for several hours, writing down in a book everything that God's people lived and experienced here. It was a great book "- recalled Cardinal Wyszy\u0144ski in a speech to young people in 1967 in Liche\u0144. Unfortunately, the above-mentioned notes have not survived - they were destroyed during World War II. This was one of the reasons why Bishop Antoni Paw\u0142owski, while preparing the coronation of the Lichen icon, asked the Primate of the Millennium to support his request to the Pope. During the coronation, Wyszy\u0144ski recalled this fact as follows: \u201cI had the opportunity to repay the debt of gratitude for spending months at this altar as a young alumnus. At that time, I was teaching your catechism to your little children. Maybe today they are parents with their own children. It was then that I became more closely associated with the sanctuary of Our Lady of Liche\u0144. "\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/blockquote>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

As a cleric, he was sent to Liche\u0144 several times to improve his health. At that time, the sanctuary was looked after by diocesan priests (from 1949 - Marians), and the pastor was Fr. Ignacy Rudzi\u0144ski. Wyszy\u0144ski had lung problems as early as 1920. When in 1924 the preparations for ordination were in full swing, deacon Wyszy\u0144ski, suffering from progressive lung disease, was diagnosed with typhus. He was taken to an infectious diseases hospital, which made it impossible for him to be ordained on June 29 for the rest of the students. Whether or not he would be ordained at all was unknown! After a serious illness, he was sent back to Liche\u0144 for convalescence. As he himself emphasized, healing came through the intercession of Our Lady. Brought up in the spirit of Marian piety, Stefan had no doubts about whom to ask for intercession with God.<\/div>
He was ordained on his 23rd birthday, on August 3, 1924, in the chapel of Our Lady in the W\u0142oc\u0142awek Cathedral by Bishop Wojciech Owczarek, who was struggling with advanced pulmonary tuberculosis. In 1965, he himself described the condition in which he was then: \u201cI did not know if I would stay on my feet (...) It was my desire to be able to celebrate at least a few Holy Masses in my life. (...) For a long time every day it seemed to me that I was celebrating the last Mass. in my life". Soon after his ordination, he helped in the pilgrimage ceremonies in Liche\u0144, which were celebrated on August 15.<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The elevation of the Servants of God to the altars was preceded by a statement by Cardinal Kazimierz Nycz, a request to the Holy Father to include Primate Wyszy\u0144ski and mother Czacka among the blessed. The metropolitan of Warsaw also presented their biographies.<\/p>

Then the prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, Card. Marcello Semeraro delivered the beatification formula in Latin.<\/p>

Its Polish translation was read to the faithful by Bishop Micha\u0142 Janocha:<\/p>

\u201cWe, Pope Francis, fulfilling the desires of Our Brother Kazimierz Nycz, Cardinal of the Holy Roman Church, Metropolitan Archbishop of Warsaw, as well as many other bishopric brothers and numerous lay faithful, on the advice of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, authorize with our apostolic authority that the Venerable Servant of God STEFAN WYSZY\u0143SKI, Archbishop of Gniezno and Warsaw, Primate of Poland, Cardinal of the Holy Roman Church, Shepherd according to the Heart of Christ, who devoted his life to the one God and was a tireless defender and herald of the dignity of every human being, as well as the Venerable Handmaid of God EL\u017bBIETA CZACKA (in the world: the Rose) The founder of the Congregation of the Franciscan Sisters, Handmaids of the Cross, who, deprived of the use of the light of her eyes, recognized Christ with the eyes of faith - the light of the world and with loving fidelity testified about Him to those who walked in the darkness of body and spirit, were henceforth called Blessed and that their memories could be celebrated every year in places and in the manner prescribed by law, namely: for the first day of the twenty-eighth May and for the second day of the nineteenth May. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.<\/p>

Given in Rome, in the Lateran, on the fifteenth day of August, the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Year of the Lord 2021, in the ninth year of our Pontificate. "<\/p>
