In front of the Basilica of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Licheń, one could hear an unusual sound, namely the clatter of hooves. It was the 4th Horse Pilgrimage from the Turkish District who came to the Licheń sanctuary. Its originality aroused great interest among other pilgrims.
Those gathered in the square in front of the basilica were welcomed and blessed by Fr. Dariusz Hirsch, MIC, a priest serving in Licheń. He expressed great gratitude that the animals also come to the feet of Our Lady of Lichen. The pilgrims and the banner took part in the Holy Mass. at 19.00, celebrated in the basilica.
This year, 5 teams have visited Licheń. The pilgrims had to cover about 40 km. The organizer is Mr. Mirosław Grudziński, president of the District Circle of the Wielkopolska Horse Breeders Association in Turek.
We hope that the pilgrimage will become a permanent fixture in the sanctuary's schedule and that each year there will be more and more participants and teams.
