SCROLL DOWN

The friars belonging to the Congregation of Marian Fathers met at a convention at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Licheń

After a one-year break, Marian brothers from all over Europe came to Licheń. Fr. Tomasz Nowaczek, MIC, superior of the Polish Province of the Congregation.

You should congratulate yourself as much as possible on the fact that God has called you to the happiest state and to make the most precious wedding, because it gives you the highest peace, peace and joy.

The main topic of this year's meeting of the brothers was the essence of the vow of poverty in the context of religious life. The brothers listened to several conferences by Fr. Tomasz Nowaczek, MIC, the superior of the Polish Province of the Congregation of Marian Fathers and Brothers.

Among the brothers who met at the Licheń sanctuary were, among others br. Krzysztof Biel, MIC, who works and serves at the General House of the Congregation of Marian Fathers in Rome. The meeting with the brothers and the words of the provincial priest allowed him to look at the issue of experiencing the vow of poverty from a new, slightly different perspective:

- “This is the fundamental issue on my religious path, because poverty makes me free. I am then open and ready to go wherever I am sent. I am at the disposal of my superiors. If I don't have a problem with poverty, I won't have a problem with obedience either, because it will be easier for me to leave everything behind and take on new challenges. There is some correlation here with the vow of obedience. The vow of poverty largely allows me to be a free man, because then I do not deal with external, worldly things, but I can focus on my relationship with God, on prayer. "

The meeting, which lasted from November 29 to December 2, was attended by 12 Marian brothers. It was also a time of rest, meeting, sharing and memories for them. The brothers also prayed in front of the Miraculous Picture of Our Lady of Licheń during the Holy Mass. and church services in the basilica.
