On Sunday, July 25, we listened to another organ concert. Its contractor was Piotr Grajter from Łódź.
Piotr Grajter graduated from the Academy of Music in Łódź, obtaining diplomas with honors in 1980 and 1981 in organ playing (class of Prof. Mirosław Pietkiewicz) and music theory (diploma thesis under the supervision of Prof. Antoni Kędra), and then in 1984 a diploma in the field of composition (class of prof. Jerzy Bauer). As a scholarship holder of the Rotary-Club foundation, in 1981/82 he studied as a guest organ in the organ class of prof. Ernst-Ulrich von Kameke in Hamburg. He took part in master classes in organ interpretation by prof. Johannes-Ernst Köhler in Weimar, Milan šLectures in Prague and Flora Peeters in Mechen.
He has given organ recitals in Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Moldova, Germany, Russia, Slovakia and Ukraine. He was a juror of the International Organ Competitions: Mikael Tariverdiev in Kaliningrad (1999) and them. Jan Kucharski in Łódź (2008, 2014). In the years 1992-2001 he was responsible for the artistic supervision of the Organ Music Festival in Inowrocław.
Professor of Musical Arts. Since 1982, he has been teaching organ classes at the Academies of Music in Bydgoszcz and Łódź. In the years 2003-2005 he was the head of the Department of Organ, Harpsichord and Early Music at the University of Lodz.
